Korean Teppan?!?!? The word Teppan used in that context i think refers to Tepanyaki, basically grilling off meat, and in the Singaporean food court sort of way, frying meat on a flat top grill. -_-
So what did this stall have to offer? U guessed it! Slices of meat "grilled" on a flat top grill at the cost of at least $3 per meal, menu includes ur meat sets(chicken, pork, fish, beef (which of course cost 30 cents more....cause its beef. -_-) and comes with ur standard kimchi and beansprouts and rice. What about the soup? D: D: THERE ISNT ANY!! not that it matters much anywayz. Just that, eating in foodcourts and not getting complimentary soup with a meal feels quite wierd. :P Oh oh, and they were also serving up Bibimpap and i think it was Beef/Pork Ramen Soup?!? Or some noodle thing, but
From that tight selection of items on the menu, i went with what the guy infront of me ordered, the Pork teppan. Which is the picture above ^ ^ ^ and below *down* down*
Before the food is handed over to you, the auntie would offer you 2 sauces, Honey and Curry. I went with the Honey (Obviously. =.=" pic says it all, u wont expect brown translucent like sauce to be curry would you?)
Comments:
Kimchi was good. U needa be such a loser to screw it up. Well, kimchi can either be good, very good, OMGWTH$%^* IMBA, or just plain awesome. The Bean sprouts was ur standard korean shop item, same comments as with the kimchi.
The chef did the best thing ANYONE could ever do, which is leave somebits of fat on the meat. :) Grilled fat, could nvr get enough of it right? Yummehhhhhh, Nom nom nom.
The meat also had the nice char-grilled taste, that might not be so obvious on the first few bites, but would get to you after a while.
And as for the sauce? Since they were kinda generous with it, it started tasting quite addictive, in the not so overwelming honey sort of way. Basically, it was like honey, but without that guilty heavy sorta feel after eating lots of eat, and not so sticky so you could drink more sauce! What would be perfect was giving us one small bowl filled with honey sauce....Soup Substitude. :D
Verdict:
Yes i would definitely go back to buy from them again, sometime in future.... But i wont recomend it to friends visiting Ngee Ann for the 1st time. As there are much better options around.
